Walt Disney World has confirmed new details about one of its most anticipated attractions, as the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster at Disney’s Hollywood Studios gears up for a major reimagining. The ride, formerly known for its Aerosmith theme, will soon spotlight The Muppets in a brand-new storyline set to debut in 2026.
This marks the first time The Muppets will headline a Disney thrill ride, following the closure of the long-running MuppetVision 3D show earlier this year.
According to Disney officials, the new adventure will put the spotlight on the legendary Electric Mayhem band. Guests will be invited to join the “biggest Hollywood concert ever,” but—as always with The Muppets—there’s a twist: the band has gone missing.
A New Spin on a Disney Classic
The attraction’s signature guitar remains at the entrance, but it’s getting a vibrant makeover. The ruby-red instrument is being redesigned with psychedelic colors and a playful Muppet-inspired touch. A piano motif with a golden key has also been added, a nod to the band’s eccentric leader.
Inside, riders will take on the role of VIP guests touring G-Force Records, now managed by The Muppets themselves with a little help from Scooter’s uncle, J.P. Grosse. Guests will board a “super-stretch limousine” for a high-speed journey through Hollywood—complete with familiar landmarks, each given a quirky Muppet twist.
Music, Mayhem, and More to Come
The ride will be backed by a full soundtrack from the Electric Mayhem, with Animal, Dr. Teeth, and the rest of the group providing the high-energy beats. Disney promises a mix of comedy, chaos, and classic Muppet humor throughout the experience.
Officials said additional details about Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets will be revealed as the 2026 opening date approaches.
For now, fans can look forward to a fresh combination of thrills, nostalgia, and Muppet mischief—one that promises to bring new life to one of Disney’s most iconic rides.
